The ability to cut paper is one of the indicators of a well-developed fine motor skills in a child. It can be difficult for a child to master scissors, as it requires him to work with his thumb, forefinger and middle finger separately from the ring and little fingers. But after a certain amount of training, the child will be able to discover the application and paper crafts.
Introducing the child with this tool should be when he shows interest. It can be between 1 and 2, and from 3 to 4 years. One should not insist particularly, but one can be interested in a personal example. Before starting work with scissors, the child must learn the safety rules: you can work with scissors strictly at the table; you can not play with them or walk around the room; only paper can be cut with scissors. In the very first lessons, a child, as a rule, learns to hold scissors correctly and cut a sheet of paper in half. Once he has mastered the basic skills, he can be offered various creative exercises.
